Pattaya is one of the most popular cities in Thailand amongst both foreigners and locals. One of the reasons is because Pattaya has a nice beach area (Jomtien Beach) which is perfect place to go for a swim throughout the year as we don’t have Winter here in Thailand. Pattaya also has a night shows, night bazaar, shopping street as well as bars and restaurants everywhere around the city.
Pattaya is only about 1-2 hours Southeast from the capital city Bangkok and you can commute here easily as there are local buses which run every 20-30 minutes. You can alternatively choose to go there by taxi and it should cost you no more than 1,500 Thai Baht (30-40 USD) – remember that cost of living in Thailand is so much cheaper compared to the US or other cities in Europe. 🙂
1. THE SANCTUARY OF TRUTH (PRASAT SUT JA-TUM)
One of the first places you want to visit, The Sanctuary of Truth is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand located here in the Northern Pattaya. The whole temple is carved out of wood and there are many thoughts going to each and every little details of this temple.
2. ART IN PARADISE
Art in Paradise is a perfect place for everyone. It basically is a 3-D art gallery where you can interact and make cool photos with famous paintings, landmarks and many more.
3. THE MISS TIFFANY’S SHOW (LADYBOY EVENING SHOW)
Miss Tiffany’s Show is arguably one of the top attractions in Pattaya. This 2-hour theatrical performance is all performed by male performers who dress as female who lipsync, dance and put on a whole load of performances which will definitely keep you entertain for two hours and trust me it’s better than it sounds. Price varies from 15 USD – 40 USD depends on the seating area.
Once the performance starts there is no photography allowed but I can guarantee that it is definitely worth seeing the show.
Just in case if you are wondering again..yes they are all boys.
Even though there is no photography allowed in the hall, you can take photos with the performers at the end of the show outside at the entrance which they expect 1 USD tip per person from you.
Due to time constraint I did not get to do everything I planned here in Pattaya, however If you get a chance to visit Pattaya, don’t forget to also visit the other 4 top places in Pattaya: Jom Tien Beach, Nong Nooch Tropical Botanic Garden, Sriracha Tiger Zoo (in the day) and Pattaya Walking Street (from evening to late night).
All in all, if you are looking for a day trip (or two) from Bangkok, Thailand I definitely recommend Pattaya as one of the top choices as it offers all kinds of different things to do and to see from temple, beach, botanic garden, evening shows, walking street (night bazaar), and the nightlife.
